Nature Club Surat is a non profit organization working for environment conservation and education for more than three decades.
Out of many activities, rescuing snakes from human settlement is one of the important activity. As the monsoon season has begun, encountering snake around human settlement is quite common. During such encounter, one should not try to catch snake on their own and should call NCS helpline immediately for snake rescue. In one such incident, on 4th July, 2019 Mr. Chirag Tamakuwala received a call regarding snake rescue from Dipli village on NCS helpline. Immediately NCS volunteer Hardatsinh Vansadia, Manthan Kadam, Anish Patel, Jaimin Patel and Vicky Lakdawala left to rescue snake. After reaching the spot they found a rare morph of Common Krait snake. The snake was safely rescued from the spot. The krait was of leucistic morph. Krait is part of big four venomous snakes and also known as silent killer. Such leucistic snakes are quite rare in wild. Later on the snake was released in wild, in presence of Forest department.whenever you find any snake or wildlife needed to be rescue try not to handle it & inform Nature club rescue centre (9825480908) or Forest department.
